Karen Scora

Drama and Acting Instructor

Karen Scora (she/her) works as an artist with a focus on teaching and acting. Her most recent class was with Shakespeare in Action, a program for children 0-6 called “Storytelling Through Play.” Karen helped pioneer the kindergarten program at Claremont school. Using Orton Gillingham, a multisensory literacy approach often used to teach students with dyslexia, Karen introduced literacy to her students in a way that was predictable, clear and fun. She has particularly enjoyed her time running drama programs as it combines her passions and skills as an artist and educator. She strives to make every class joyful, and to make every child feel welcomed, safe and important! Karen is a child at heart who is always willing to play, which has helped her connect easily with students and audiences alike. She is a versatile actor, bringing characters to life on stage and screen. Karen holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from UofT and a diploma in Theatre and Drama Studies from Sheridan College. She has her basic certification in stage combat from FDC, and she is currently studying improv with Second City.
