Digital Music Production Workshop
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Have you ever tried or wanted to make your own music? Is there a certain Digital Audio Workstation just collecting dust on your machine because you don’t know how to use it? I’ve been there, my friend!
We focus on beat making, production, recording and the basics of mixing. We’ll go through workflow, stock plugins and sounds, Truss’ go-to plugins and instruments, and neat tricks and practices. We may focus on Ableton, but we can look into whatever preferred DAW you use! Each session will have 30-45 minutes of theory, leaving you with the remainder of the session to get your hands dirty with Truss there to help you through! Each participant will need to bring their own laptops, and have their DAW of choice downloaded on their machines. Headphones will also be helpful to have.

About your instructor
Tamari Russell, professionally known as Truss, is a producer, audio engineer, and songwriter based in Toronto. He’s been working in and out of studios for the past 10 years, performing & touring with his band TRP.P, and producing for himself and many artists in the city. Since graduating the audio engineering program at Trebas Institute in 2018, Truss has helped on several live stages and production sets, engineered a live musical, produced several albums and EPs, and is still experimenting with live instruments in the studio whenever the opportunity arises. He’s worked with many DAWs like Ableton, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, and more. Learning is ongoing, and as Truss continues to grow and develop his skills, he wants to spread as much knowledge as he can, and help in any way possible to bring about better change for his community.
