This class will introduce students to the fundamentals of performing heightened text and using poetry to create fully realized and exciting characters.  Students will have a chance to explore the magical world of Shakespeare’s poetry and plays through scene study and monologue.  We will explore iambic pentameter and establish recognizable building blocks so that reading and speaking Shakespeare becomes as easy as reading modern text.  Students will work together to stage scenes, and develop characters through Shakespearean monologues and sonnets.  All the world’s a stage, and this class will give you the tools and the confidence to take it!
