About The Artists

Natalie Wong:

Natalie began her musical studies at the age of 3. She started playing violin at the age of 7. At the age of 16 she received the ARCT performance diploma at the Royal Conservatory of Music.  She studied violin performance at University of Toronto. Her list of mentors includes Scott St. John, Annalee Patipatanakoon, Katharine Rapoport and Jacques Israelievitch. Natalie also has an extensive background in music theory and composition, having studied with Abigail Richardson and Alexander Rapoport. She has studied jazz with saxophonist Budi Winarto and is continuing to dive deeper into this genre with violin and vocal.

She has been a member of the Niagara Symphony Orchestra since 2008. Today she performs in several styles, from classical to jazz, and from Bach to Nat King Cole in several languages.  She is a singer-songwriter, composer and arranger who works and performs with fellow singer-songwriters and various musical ensembles.

Fanny Tang:

A graduate of University of Toronto and McGill University, Fanny Tang is a versatile musician.  Her musical journey began at age 6 on the violin and later found her fondness in viola when she was 13.  Although trained in viola and chamber music, Fanny also polished her skill in the rare division of music engraving.  She has prepared parts-scores of newly commissioned works for established composers and publishers, and local musicians with their personal musical notation needs.  A Jill of all trades, Fanny also plays in various symphonic orchestras in Ontario, and is proficient in graphic design and website management.  She plays on a modern viola custom made for her by Canadian luthier David Prentice.
