Cecilia Chow, a rising star in the world of piano, has carved her musical path with extraordinary artistry, captivating audiences across the globe. With a dynamic and versatile approach to the piano, Cecilia's performances have left an indelible mark on the international stage.
Her exceptional talent has garnered numerous accolades, including top honors in renowned competitions such as the Internationaler Deutchler Klavier, Steinway and Sons Piano Competition, Toyama Piano Competition, Yamaha Piano Competition, and Asia Open Competition. Her musical journey has taken her to illustrious venues worldwide, from the grandeur of Guangzhou Opera House to the intimacy of Haydn-Haus and the iconic stages of Kilbourn Hall, Galvin Hall, and Pick-Staiger Concert Hall.
Cecilia's musical prowess extends beyond solo performances, as she has woven her artistry into collaborative endeavors. She has graced the stage alongside esteemed musicians, including the Dover Quartet and members of the Ying Quartet. Her artistry has been honed through mentorship with luminaries such as Anton Nel, Yoheved Kaplinsky, and Julian Martin, setting her on a trajectory toward musical greatness.
As a student, Cecilia has given performances at the Aspen Music Festival and School, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Gijón International Piano Festival, Amalfi Coast Piano Festival, and Classical Music Festival. An extraordinary highlight came in 2017 when she shared the stage with legendary pianist Ann Schein at Harris Concert Hall during the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Cecilia's educational journey has been nothing short of remarkable, from receiving scholarships at the Eastman School of Music to earning her Master's of Music from Northwestern University under the guidance of Sylvia Wang. Her commitment to musical pedagogy is evident through her studies with esteemed mentors such as Tony Caramia and Marcia Bosits. She further honed her craft through an Artist Diploma at the Royal Conservatory of Music's Glenn Gould School, mentored by John Perry and David Louie.
Beyond the realm of music, Cecilia finds solace in her lush garden, nurturing vibrant vegetables. Her love for nature leads her to the open waters while kayaking, allowing her to connect with outdoor serenity. Cecilia resides in Toronto, ON, sharing her life with her ever- supportive feline companion, Aria.
