About The Artists

Ottawa-born pianist Adam Zheng is a Grade 10 student at Merivale High School pre-IB Program whose piano journey began when he was six years old. Adam holds an RCM Licentiate Diploma (LRCM) in Piano Performance and an RCM Associate Diploma (ARCT) in Piano Performance, and is continuously refining his artistry under the guidance of Dr. Chunson Park.

Since 2018, Adam has been a trophy and scholarship winner at all regional and provincial solo and concerto piano competitions, and has also been the grand winner of the Ottawa Steinway Advanced Performance Class series in 2022 and 2024. Adam has reached multiple remarkable milestones, such as debuting as a piano soloist with the Divertimento Orchestra at ten, winning the International Henle Piano Competition at twelve, and earning the RCM National Diploma Gold Medals for achieving the highest LRCM and ARCT piano exam marks in Canada for Years 2023-24 and 2021-22. In Summer 2024, Adam was announced the winner of the ORMTA Provincial Young Artist Competition and will be on a Young Artist piano concert tour across Ontario. In Summer 2025, Adam will represent Ontario at the National CFMTA Piano Competition.

Adam’s public performances have included notable venues like the Royal Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Recital Hall, National Arts Centre, Chamberfest, and the Master Piano Recital Series. Beyond his solo career, Adam regularly performs chamber music with groups of violinists and has accompanied his older sister’s Associate Diploma Violin exam and recitals. Since March 2023, Adam and his sister have been delivering weekly piano recitals at three retirement homes in Ottawa, performing a variety of musical styles, from classical to jazz to musical theater.

Out of music studies, Adam is a recognized mock trial debater and is a student AI developer.
